HIAP open call for Finnish artists and art professionals for residencies, deadline August 9th
HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme is happy to announce an open call for Finnish art practitioners for the year 2019!
HIAP is looking for applications from Finnish artists and other art professionals (curators, writers, etc.) for three 11-month residencies in 2019. The HIAP Residency Programme focuses on visual art but is open for art professionals from other disciplines as well. The programme offers time and space for open-ended research and experimentation, without the requirement to produce finalized pieces of work.
Where: HIAP Suomenlinna (1 studio, 1 guest room) and HIAP Cable Factory (1 studio), Helsinki.
Duration of residency: 11 months (February–December 2019)
The selected residents will receive: a space for living and working free of charge
Applications are accepted from:
- Artists and other art professionals of Finnish nationality based in Finland or abroad
- Artists and other art professionals who are based in Finland (Finnish nationality is not required)
The deadline for the applications is Thursday, August 9, 2018. All the applications must be submitted by using an online application form.

Please note that there will not be a general open call for international artists for the year 2019. We hope to be able to offer this again for the year 2020. The international HIAP residents for 2019 will be selected via invitation or specific open calls arranged with our programme partner organisations.
