To all the members of the Künstlerbund MV as well as artists (members of professional artists associations) of the countries bordering the Baltic Sea: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden.

WHO, WHEN, WHERE The exhibition is being organized and curated by the Berlin art historian and curator Dr Elisabeth Klotz. Please submit your proposals on the topic “Luftlinie” (Eng.: linear distance, literally: air + line) by October 13, 2017, as an anonymous PDF by email to: The data volume should not exceed 5 MB on a maximum of 4 pages DIN A4 and include informative images, a statement, and information about the work (title, year, technique, dimensions).

The history of the artist village and artist colony Ahrenshoop covers more than 120 years. Various artists, member of the movements “Brücke” or “Blauer Reiter” were attracted and inspired by the beautiful landscape and brought modern art to the coastline. Today, you can find contemporary art in numerous galleries and exhibition halls.

The annual exhibition this year will take place at various locations in Ahrenshoop. Various Exhibition spaces will be made use of in cooperation with the Kurverwaltung Ahrenshoop (the Strandhalle and the Kunstkaten) as well as the Künstlerhaus Lukas, the Kunstmuseum Ahrenshoop, the Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop, the Galerie Alte Schule, the Atelier im Dornenhaus.

The jury comprising the curator and representatives of the Künstlerbund MV and the participating exhibition venues will convene in mid-October. In your submission, please make reference to this year’s topic “Luftlinie”. Both words that constitute the term provide space for individual artistic approaches and interpretations in diverse media and forms of execution.
